The new power rankings are here and more jokes are made! *Note: these were meant to be sort of a joke and not official and professional rankings.. IIHF just wants to have fun with these! Make sure to watch the games tomorrow if you can! I know it's Monday but hockey cures the blues! (Just ask St. Louis!) Day 3 ScoresWelcome back!! I hope that everything is going well for you and your team! Remember to wake up early to cheer them on because of the Russian time zones.... I'm sorry if I bring that up every time. Anyways, the IIHF will stream games on their YouTube channel if your country allows them. So that's good news! The schedule for tomorrow is below: *Note: Canada will be playing around 5:15 ET so then the next games are at 9:15 ET and then 1:15 ET. Day 2 ScoresAlways a pleasure to help with the times!!! Good luck with your country!!
More teams will play their first gamr today! Good luck to all and I hope that you can understand the Russian time zones (I haven't figured that out yet!) Yesterday's ScoresIt's World Championship time! The best countries and their great players (NHL ones are included!!!) will travel to St. Petersburg! Each team has the best available due to the NHL playoffs going on (Sorry to Ovi and Crosby fans!). It's okay that they are missing because they are playing for their cities right now and will focus on their countries in September (World Cup!!!). Before I get too ahead of myself, here is the schedule for the opening day! *Feel free to comment on which team you are rooting for!*
St. Louis won in OT against Dallas, 4-3. The series is now tied 1-1 and will be going to St. Louis on Tuesday.
Dallas tied up the game against St. Louis!
3-3 in the third period! Crosby vs. Ovechkin will definitely be the marquee match up in the playoffs and it is really living up to the hype so far. Pittsburgh won a tight game last night and showed that they are not afraid of the best team in the regular season. Tampa and New York are the underdogs in a sense. Tampa's roster is injured and teams from warmer climates don't typically get as much as much coverage as others do. New York hadn't advanced in the playoffs in a long time and it's great to see them finally back. Both teams have great stories and I want them to do the best and make us all proud. When the best offense meets one of the best all-around teams... The game is going on as we speak and St. Louis dominated the first period but Dallas scored a goal in the third! Now there's a one goal lead! This series can go back and forth because both teams know each other very well from the regular season but the playoffs bring out new sides to teams.
Speaking of bringing out new sides, has anyone been watching San Jose?! They finished last in the worst division but they proved to be a defensive and offensive threat. They have great defense that can score and that's terrifying to other teams. But, no so fast, because Nashville is extremely physical and gets under everyone's skin to bring out the worst in the very best of teams. They most definitely up for the challenge and this will be a very physical and entertaining match up. Way to go, Toronto! It's been awhile since the worst team actually won the draft lottery and now the Leafs won something decently important. Will they get Auston Matthews? Probably.
