Battle Of Alberta

Picture
Tonight is the first Battle of the season for the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. The rivalry will heat up this year with the Oilers adding to their team with top draft pick, Connor McDavid. McDavid will not only add more people to the stands, but he will also add more of a threat to the Oilers' offence.

Lately, the Flames dominated the past few battles but this year's Oilers team may turn the tide. Even if they don't win tonight, they could make it a close game and prove that they are changing for the better. They definitely won't quit in this game or during the season because they are a team trying to prove themselves.

The Flames only have one win and the Oilers are still seeking their first win. The Flames' offence is doing better than the Oilers' with Jiri Hudler leading at 2 goals and 4 points. For Edmonnton, Taylor Hall and Oscar Klefbom both have one goal and one point.

Remember that both these teams are young and will have many more battles in the next coming years. These teams are still learning and growing in the NHL. Give them some time and they could be great.

Below are the projected lineups for tonight: (The top four lines go from : Left Winger - Centre - Right Winger)
Oilers
Taylor Hall - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Matt Hendricks

Benoit Pouliot - Connor McDavid - Nail Yakupov

Lauri Korpikoski - Anton Lander - Teddy Purcell

The answer to the title above is: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October is finally here and today there are only 6 days until hockey season officially begins! The month we have been asking about is finally here! Now we just have to wait a few more days until the Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Rangers, Blackhawks, Canucks, Flames, Sharks, and Kings play out the first four games of the regular season.
We are almost there!
