Belarus vs. Switzerland (5 am ET)* Denmark vs. Russia Slovakia vs. Sweden (7 am ET) Canada vs. Finland (9 am ET) Czech Republic vs. United States (11 am ET) Scores: Russia 2 Slovakia 1 United States 4 Denmark 1 Finland 5 Czech Republic 4 Sweden 5 Canada 2 *Relegation: Two last place teams play in a best of two out of three games. The winner will compete in the 2017 World Juniors while the loser will be demoted to Division I Group A. “I don’t think about the game beforehand, I just hang out. We live pretty far away here so my teammates and I watch TV and have fun. I don't think about the game, not even our own play when we’re finished. If I thought about the scores all the time, I’d go crazy.” -Radel Fazleyev, Team Russia Congratulations to the Montréal Canadiens on their 5-1 victory! The game was definitely heated and physical, but the Canadiens were able to win big. David Desharnais, Paul Byron (2 goals!), Brendan Gallagher, and Max Pacioretty all scored for the Canadiens. Matt Belesky scored the only goal for the Bruins in the third period. The Canadiens are certainly happy to have Gallagher back and hopefully his presence will help them win more games. The Bruins will bounce back from this loss because they are a good team and this is not the end of their season. Hope you all enjoyed hockey on New Year's Day!
Today is the Winter Classic between the Montréal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins. The game is at 1 pm ET on NBC, TVA Sports, and Sportsnet.
Good news for Canadiens fans: Brendan Gallagher will return in this game. Bad news for Bruins fans: Brad Marchand will not play due to a suspension. The Canadiens are 21-15-3 and the Bruins are 20-14-2. This will make for a great rivalry game. |
ThoughtOne century of this game and League is a wonderful milestone to celebrate. Let's hope to do this in the next century! Archives
