If you don't know who this man is or what he was like, this quote below does a decent job at explaining him (there's a lot more about him than this though). "I'm a kid from the small Illinois town of Batavia, who grew up on the Chicago Cubs, and made sports his life’s work, although there’s never been a day where it actually seemed like work. I have run with the bulls in Pamplona. I have raced with Mario Andretti in Indianapolis. I have climbed the Great Wall of China. I have jumped out of airplanes over Kansas. I have wrestled gators in Florida. I have sailed the ocean with Ted Turner. I have swam the oceans in the Caribbean. And I have interviewed Gregg Popovich. Mid-game. Spurs down seven." -Craig Sager Three French hens or No. 3 on the field tonight for Seattle? Not sure if his wrapping is better or worse than mine... Did you spot the holiday sweater?! *Hint* Holiday sweaters will show up again but not today! Merry Christmas and enjoy these hilarious superlatives before the game tonight!!
"Each year, I've grown as a more confident player and had a lot more trust in myself. I believe in myself first and that allows others to believe in me. That was the biggest difference, really. Being able to play free now is something I never felt my freshman year." -Sarah Wilhite Two turtle doves... Or should we say some turtle gloves? Check out some of the latest goals, thanks to some turtle gloves... That was way more than two but the more the merrier, eh?! Tis the season to be merry too!
Partridge in a pear tree? How about a bear tree?! Check out some highlights from the bear teams! Chicago CubsYou would have to be living under a rock if you didn't know about what this team did in November. Every Cubs fans' Christmas wish came early this year and I don't think they want anything more (except maybe ANOTHER one!). Santa definitely decided that after 108 years of coal, it was time to put the Cubs on the nice list. How wonderful! Chicago BearsWhat highlights? The Bears may not be perfect but they have some things to smile about this Christmas! They look decent right now and they may part ways with Jay Cutler (which may be any Bears fans' Christmas wish). A new future could be what the Bears want this Christmas and the best may come soon! Boston Bruins34 points and third place in the Atlantic? What a nice first portion of the season! Another good gift from Santa? Tuukka Rask has 15 wins and 1.80 goals against average (Rask was 2.56 last season). Hopefully the Bruins will receive the gift of making the playoffs this season after receiving coal and skipping out for the past two seasons. Rask's great performance so far is the perfect stocking stuffer to what the Bruins are hoping for this year.
“It was a memorable year for sure, and even though we fell short at both World Cups, I know the experiences that me and my teammates had will last a lifetime. It’s a huge honor to win this award and I’m really appreciative of everyone who voted for me.” -Ashley Sanchez Congratulations to Ashley!!!
"I've obviously been super passionate about being a woman in sport, and the fact that I can now aid women in sport while now working in sport is super exciting for me. If we can help anyone, I think we've done our job if we can help one person." -Laura Madaio, Athletes of Valor Marketing Manager. "When all else failed, baseball was a way to be part of something together -- some way to touch and connect with something great, to believe that whatever else fails, here is a thing that mattered, a place where winning was possible, and hope always prevailed. After all, win or lose, the only guarantee is that there will be more games and another season, another chance." -Lyz Lenz "My teammates believe in me so much, and they just throw up the ball and know I'm going to get it. I'm happy I was able to do this in front of everyone that has helped me. My teammates really care about me, and I'm so happy to be here." -Kristine Anigwe, first Cal player to score 50 points in a game. "I didn't go through a big depression. I didn't have a big freak-out. I was very motivated to live my life. I didn't want to be defined by it, more than anything, so I was pretty determined not to be like a cliché of someone who doesn't do as much anymore." -Victoria Feige, Team Canada's only female adaptive surfer. |
AuthorHi, I'm Jenna and I'm a sports fan! I've been avidly watching sports since 2011 because I found that by watching sports, I would be able to communicate with my dad and brother better. Ever since I got into sports, I've been able to enjoy myself more when I go to sporting events with my family. Archives
