“Texas A&M opened its arms to my family in 2015 and through thick or thin, they have stood by our side ever since. I couldn’t ask for better teammates or a better coach.” -Trinity Harrington "People have always asked how we kept going; As we went along we found that for every person who was ready to hurl an insult, there was also someone to shout support. When a competitor might do something to make things more difficult, there was almost always another that was ready to offer up help." -Janet Guthrie "It depends on your fitness level, but the fastest way is actually to walk up two stairs at a time -- that's faster than running one at a time. I've timed myself." -Suzy Walsham "What I've come to realize is that, although I love competing and pushing myself to my threshold and beyond, empowering other women to push themselves to greatness is my true calling." -Anik Demers Remember confidence intervals? Well, those are what we are going to explore again today! Just a reminder that confidence intervals are an interval of plausible values that show ability. For today's example, we will use these intervals to show how confident we are about how many goals a team can score in the Stanley Cup based on their playoff performances. Nashville Predators -1.22 To 2.64 goals Pittsburgh Penguins 2.25 to 3.85 goals What does this all mean? It means that the team usually scores between the two ranges listed above around 95% of the time.
Here are some things to remember: Pittsburgh played FOUR more games than Nashville did. Does that mean that they had tougher rounds with better teams? Maybe, or Nashville could just be that dominant. Another thing to think about, Nashville's goaltending. You do not need to constantly score multiple goals in a game when your goalie is the team. Pittsburgh faced good goaltenders, but have they faced one like Pekka Rinne? Maybe, but also maybe not. We shall see on Monday how these teams do and which storyline prevails. "One thing [Coach] Cindy [Timchal] loves to say is, 'Behind mountains are more mountains,' You can get to one level but there's always more. You think you're at your potential, but you're not." -Kelly Larkin "If I'm at the top in off-road, what's next? Am I going to stay at this level, or should I move forward into bigger things?" -Hailie Deegan "I really hated to lose. I liked seeing the looks on the boys' faces when I would drive it farther or when I'd win." -Lizette Salas "When I was in the third grade, the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, and I wrote, 'Pro golfer.' Even at that young age, I was very dedicated to what I did, to all of my sports. I love living in Pennsylvania, love the farming life and didn't want to move south. I stuck to what I wanted to do, what my dreams were and made it work out." -Rachel Rohanna |
AuthorHi, I'm Jenna and I'm a sports fan! I've been avidly watching sports since 2011 because I found that by watching sports, I would be able to communicate with my dad and brother better. Ever since I got into sports, I've been able to enjoy myself more when I go to sporting events with my family. Archives
