I recently heard by someone that Matt Moore is a better quarterback for the Miami Dolphins than Ryan Tannehill was this season. I was not quite sure if I believed it since Tannehill was the main reason how Miami got to being in contention for the playoffs. Moore did a great job at maintaining all the work that Tannehill put in and looks better than some of the other backups who were not able to maintain their starter's success. With that in mind, this week's question is... Are the Dolphins better off with Matt Moore?2016 Records: Tannehill: 8-5 Moore: 2-1 HypothesesNull: Tannehill and Moore have the same ability in games (above 5%). Alternative: Moore has a greater ability to win games than Tannehill (below 5%). Test StatisticTo find what would tell us if the null or alternative is correct, we calculated the mean of both QBs' ratings for their starts this year. Context 1 is Tannehill and Context 2 is Moore. The test statistic is 17.15. SimulationP-value= 20.5% (41 out of 200 trials are above or at 17.15) ConclusionLooks like it is plausible to say that Tannehill and Moore are very similar for the Dolphins.
This could have been more accurate if Moore provided more games and Tannehill did not have more stats. I guess we would be able to know more if Moore provided more... hmmm... "...But [Miesha Tate] knows she has credibility and the fact she retired, a lot of people focused more on her retirement than the fact I got my hand raised. But that's OK. I've been the dark horse of women's MMA for so long." -Raquel Pennington, on Tate's retirement announcement after her defeat by Pennington. "I'm trying to figure out what I can do to promote girls playing football. I haven't quite figured it out, where my space is. That's what I'm looking for. ... I want girls to know that they have the opportunity and it's a great sport. I'd like to be that ambassador that says, 'Yes you can.'" -Althea McNichol "I realized that I had turned my failures to strength and that I was able to make all sorts of episodes (good or bad) fuel my passion. [My failures] They encourage me to work harder, challenge my limits, and be a better person every day." -Marin Minamiya, youngest Japanese person to climb mt. Everest. "It's really hard to describe the emotions. It was kind of a combination of excitement, gratitude and humbleness. I was really humbled by this whole thing and to finally see it. It was really incredible." -Elizabeth Williams, on being the third female basketball player to have her number retired at Duke. "It was [a] rush. It was just this crazy atmosphere, with the music. I knew I just had to be part of this, but I didn't want to be a fighter." -Swayze Valentine "My grandmother, a big Syracuse fan and a long-suffering Browns fan, took to changing the channel in frustration when it was clear that the teams we were rooting for would eventually lose... We sat in that house laughing, eating and being together unaware of what we would one day lose. So when we lost her, we lost a bit of ourselves, and we lost watching the game together as a family." -Keah Brown "My life's stabilizing infrastructure is a perfect image for these sporty pony-tailed sisters of the wee hours of the morning of mine." -Diana Kapp |
AuthorHi, I'm Jenna and I'm a sports fan! I've been avidly watching sports since 2011 because I found that by watching sports, I would be able to communicate with my dad and brother better. Ever since I got into sports, I've been able to enjoy myself more when I go to sporting events with my family. Archives
