I recently heard by someone that Matt Moore is a better quarterback for the Miami Dolphins than Ryan Tannehill was this season. I was not quite sure if I believed it since Tannehill was the main reason how Miami got to being in contention for the playoffs. Moore did a great job at maintaining all the work that Tannehill put in and looks better than some of the other backups who were not able to maintain their starter's success. With that in mind, this week's question is... Are the Dolphins better off with Matt Moore?2016 Records: Tannehill: 8-5 Moore: 2-1 HypothesesNull: Tannehill and Moore have the same ability in games (above 5%). Alternative: Moore has a greater ability to win games than Tannehill (below 5%). Test StatisticTo find what would tell us if the null or alternative is correct, we calculated the mean of both QBs' ratings for their starts this year. Context 1 is Tannehill and Context 2 is Moore. The test statistic is 17.15. SimulationP-value= 20.5% (41 out of 200 trials are above or at 17.15) ConclusionLooks like it is plausible to say that Tannehill and Moore are very similar for the Dolphins.
This could have been more accurate if Moore provided more games and Tannehill did not have more stats. I guess we would be able to know more if Moore provided more... hmmm... Leave a Reply. |
