The Lions were established in 1930 and won 4 NFL championships (before the merger that created the NFL we see today.) They moved to Detroit in 1934 after being in Portsmouth, Ohio. This fact is sad but it also shows that there are still some teams that have never been to the Super Bowl. Not every team is fortunate enough to go to the big game and hopefully the Lions can one day go there. The former stadium is permanently closed and will be demolished this spring. If you want to check out the abandoned stadium, go soon unless it's already gone! "LET ME STRESS THAT I'VE NEVER INTENTIONALLY MADE A DIRTY PLAY IN MY LIFE, BECAUSE THIS IS THE WAY I LIKE TO LIVE. BUT IF YOU COME NEAR ME AND YOU'RE NOT IN THE PATTERN AND I HAVE A CHANCE TO HIT YOU-I'M GONNA HIT YOU." -Dick LeBeau For more on Detroit's Hall of Famers, visit:
