On this day in 2014, White Sox designated hitter Frank Thomas, left-hander Tom Glavine, right-hander Greg Maddux, and managers Bobby Cox, Joe Torre, and Tony La Russa are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Thomas becomes the first player to be enshrined having spent more than half of his time as a designated hitter while Torre is only the Hall of Famer to collect more than 2,000 hits as a player and win more than 2,000 games as a manager. Leave a Reply. |
