And the American League Team that gets home field advantage in the World Series is.......... THE CLEVELAND INDIANS! A storybook year for Cleveland just keeps getting better. The city that was sad after losing its closest hope of a major title in the summer of '15 has completely turned around in the summer of '16 and continues to win in the fall. Who would've thought? Did both Corey Kluber and Francisco Lindor know that they were playing to be in Cleveland for Game 7 of the World Series back in July at the All Star Game? Not sure if they could track all of their meteoric rise in baseball. They definitely knew they were special when they took over the Central and here they are! What a way to wake a sleeping bear. We saw some rare spectacles tonight: an Addison Russell home run and an Anthony Rizzo one. Did we ever think that this would happen coming into tonight? Russell absolutely shocked because he was batting .042 before this game and was 3 for 5 tonight. A three-hit night makes a huge difference because now he's at .214. And we didn't forget about Rizzo! This guy was struggling because we are used to seeing the hero from the regular season but this postseason he is not the player we knew then. Rizzo also went 3 for 5 and is now at .250 (it was previously .077!) Nothing can stop them, they're all the way up! Farewell to the JaysDear Toronto,
This city is absolutely wonderful and deserves only the best. I am so sorry what happened today. You do not deserve this exit. I enjoyed watching this team take down the Orioles and Rangers in the most Toronto-like fashion with home runs and Donaldson slides. We will miss the colorful personality of the team and the other teams' reactions towards it. No one bat flips better than this team. No one. This team is so unique compared to others because it has an entire country backing them. No other team has that fan base. We will miss you greatly and best of luck in the offseason. Go Jays!
