I just wanted to share a personal story that happened to me today: I went to the Edmonton vs. Anaheim game tonight and during intermission, I met an Oilers fan. The kind fan decided that I was worthy enough to accept his kind gift, which was a program from when Anaheim played in Edmonton. This year is the farewell season for the historic Rexall Place and any part of the arena is worth something. This fan decided to share with me something very important to him and I am forever grateful for that. I just want to let you all know that Oilers fans are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Please be nice to them because they have gone through so much and still continue to be great people.
Thank you, Oilers fans.
Here are some things to remember before tomorrow's game:
• Game starts at 3:30 pm ET on NBC.
• This is the first time Minnesota will play in a Winter Classic game.
• Minnesota recently fired coach, Mike Yeo, on February 13th and have gone 3-0 since and scored 5 goals in each game!
• This marks Chicago's fourth appearance in a Winter Classic game; their record is 1-2.
One century of this game and League is a wonderful milestone to celebrate. Let's hope to do this in the next century!
