This is the second edition of the important update on this current rookie class. Here we go! Find out how the top rookies are doing below! Toronto Maple Leafs TrioAuston Matthews: In the three games he played this week, Matthews scored three goals and had an assist, which came after 13 goal-less games. He now is tied for the team lead of 9 goals. He's doing alright now that he got that monkey off his back. Mitch Marner: Marner did not score in the games this week, but he still found a way to contribute and earn two points. His two assists last night helped his team score 4 goals against Washington. He now is tied for the team most with 11 assists. William Nylander: Nylander did well last night with an assist in their win. Last night was a huge night for the Leafs because their future stars all came together to have a part in their defeat, which is exactly what they want for the team. ScheduleStill second best in goalsPatrik Laine: He's cooled off from scoring goals (five games have passed, eight more and he can tie Matthews' previous streak) but he has a chance to end that tonight vs. Nashville. I think Laine will end this and score at least this week. He should not feel pressure yet because he's still tied for second in goals and he needs only three more to catch Crosby. Most people need way more to catch him but he's special. ScheduleFlaming Up?Matthew Tkachuk:
It may sound too early to talk about heating up but Tkachuk did have a goal and assist this week against the Sabres. He's now tied with four others for the second most goals (5) which comes to show how slow this season is for the Flames. They definitely need Tkachuk to step it up, along with the others, because they are struggling and Gaudreau is still gone. Instead of making this season, 'Waiting for Gaudreau', they need to make it more like 'Inferno' and heat up like their name. 7/2/2023 10:39:15 am
