Did you know that the Vikings were named after the Scandinavian culture in Minnesota? Did you also know that 'Purple People Eaters' was the nickname for the defense in the 70s? Alan Page, a Purple People Eater, became the first ever defensive player to win the NFL MVP. Home Sweet HomeAfter enduring the cold seasons at TCF Bank Stadium, the Vikings now will play at a *much* warmer and shinier stadium. Starting this season, the Vikings will play at U.S. Bank Stadium and now everyone can enjoy the indoor aspect (fans, players, coaches, employees, etc.) Who remembers that playoff game against Seattle? That was extremely cold!!! I'm sorry if I brought back horrible memories, Vikings fans. We all felt for you after that game and we wish the best season for you this year. TraditionsHeadwear: The dominant fashion in Minnesota is the Helga hat. The typical Viking-style hat can be seen all over the stadium and is modeled by this gorgeous model here. Fight Song: "Skol, Vikings" has been the fight song since the first season in 1961. Here's the actual song: Horn: The gjallarhorn is typically played during games. The gjallarhorn is from Norse mythology and is known as the "yelling horn". Meet ViktorLeave a Reply. |
