Thought that Raiders fans were intimidating? Well, Sports Illustrated thinks that the Eagles have the most intimidating fans in a survey conducted through NFL players. Maybe you have heard the legend about how the fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus or seen the movie Invincible to confirm this statement. One thing for sure is that this team has a loyal base. Don't believe me about the Santa story? Just watch... Historical Fact: During the 1943 season the NFL lost many players to WWII and had to merge teams together for them to be functional. The Eagles merged with the Steelers and became the Steagles. Hall of FamersRemember that those in bold spent a majority of their careers there! Ever wondered which rivalry is king in the NFL, according to NFL Network? Your answer is found in both New York and Philadelphia, of course! The rivalry rules over all because it is one of the oldest (1933!) and when you're the oldest, you have more time to creat bad blood while the others are trying to catch up. They both were stuck with each other for years and even though the Giants have the upper hand by a few games, the Eagles have made some great comebacks (see: "Miracle In The Meadowlands – Herm Edwards", "Miracle In The Meadowlands II – Brian Westbrook" and "Miracle In The New Meadowlands – DeSean Jackson", according to Wikipedia). Famous Media featuring the EaglesSome really awesome movies and television shows feature this famous team and if you're ever interested in being inspired (the movies should help!) or just wanting to laugh (and that's what TV is for!), these are for you! Movies: Silver Linings Playbook (rated R for harsh language) Invincible (Rated PG, definitely suitable for most) Television: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Watch: Season 3, Episode 2. Viewer Discretion Advised because it is rated TV-MA) The Goldbergs (The son dates a girl who is *gasp* a Cowboys fan! Not rated but it is a family show so most can watch) Onward You Go!!First game is against the Browns on Sunday, 9/11.
