"I love running because it gives me the opportunity to overcome my doubts. I'm also proud of shedding light on fitness within the Ghanaian community, where high blood pressure and hypertension are prevalent. I'm always repping my country at my races, and my story has helped inspire other people within the community to get active. I think the fitness community is finally realizing that you don't have to be a certain shapen or size to accomplish things." -Olivia Frempong In honour of today's game between the two neighbouring Atlantic teams, the question today is: Who is more consistent when they play each other: Toronto or Buffalo?Steps: 1) Find the mean of their goals scored in the past 10 games. Toronto's Mean: 2.8 Buffalo's Mean: 2.8 2) Subtract values from the mean. Toronto's Mean Average Distance: 0 Buffalo's Mean Average Distance: 0.56 3) Then find the Standard Deviation and whoever has the lowest is considered more consistent! Toronto's Standard Deviation: 1.23 Buffalo's Standard Deviation: 1.81 ConclusionLooks like Toronto barely edged out Buffalo for this one but I do not think the comparison is fair. Buffalo's 6 goal game on Nov. 15, 2014 definitely skewed their data a bit with the Mean Average Distance being just a bit larger than Toronto's. I did check and 6 goals is not an official outlier, so they did not win that one either.
Both teams have been closely-matched in the past and I think that today will not be any different. Toronto looks much better right now but Buffalo is still willing to challenge them. Hoping all of you can watch it tonight at 7 pm ET! “I’m proud to be the first [african-American swimmer on the U.S. Olympic team], but I don’t want to be the last,” -Maritza Correia-McClendon "We know the federations can do better [to improve women's football]... The men have been doing it for years and they have seen a lot of improvements in the game - if the females can get half of that it would definitely bring joy to a lot of girls and a lot of kids out there who feel they are hopeless right now." -Asisat Oshoala "IF you really want something, put everything you have out on the table to go and get it." -Vashti Cunningham "IF YOU DON'T LOVE WHAT YOU'RE DOING, YOU WON'T WANT TO DO IT." -Ashleigh Johnson, gold medalist. “I don’t know if race made it more difficult, but definitely it made me stronger, knowing that I [had] no excuse [for] making mistakes or being kind of so-so, because maybe I [wouldn’t] be accepted as a white person [would’ve been]. But if [I was] better, they had no choice but to accept it and say, ‘She did so well.’” -Surya Bonaly "I didn't realize until maybe middle school or high school just how big of a deal it was. [My grandfather] helped gain independence for a whole country [Sierra Leone]. It's just amazing, hearing about that. And even though I never got to meet him, it's cool to know that's in my family history and i grew up with a person like that." -Napheesa Collier We're thirty minutes away from the beginning of the last football game of the season. Hope you all enjoy today (but not too much!) and I will congratulate whoever wins on the Football page! See you soon!
