What. A. Week. This week started off on a high note with Ichiro joining the 3000 hits club and doing so with a triple (the second player to do so!).
Then the Orioles were rolling and Machado hit three home runs in his first three at bats that were in all three innings! Talk about a clicking offense that is close to winning the division but Toronto is still on it for now. And then we also said goodbye to a major figure in baseball, Alex Rodriguez. He had a long and complicated relationship with New York but he was able to get a nice ceremony and retire from there on Friday. The Yankees seem to doing fine since their two call-ups hit back-to-back home runs, the first time in history (not pictured). We also had to say a sad and early goodbye to Prince Fielder. We hope everything feels better for him because neck surgery and walking away from the beloved game because of pain are hard pills to swallow. We will miss both Prince and Alex as they leave the game. Leave a Reply. |
