*NOTE: Jacob Markstrom is in goal instead of Henrik Lunqvist (illness) for Sweden. North America vs. FinlandToday is the debut for the young and restless Team North America. They definitely have their work cut out for them against Team Finland, a tough contender. There are so many things to watch for, like both the #1 and #2 draft picks facing each other (Matthews and Laine) and also last year's #1 and #2 playing together (McDavid and Eichel). We also get to watch Stanley Cup hero Matt Murray start in goal vs. Pekka Rinne, one of the best goaltenders in the game. It will definitely be a battle for both because they have proven themselves in the playoffs but you could ask if Murray has proven himself enough. He lacks the experience of Rinne, being on the 23 and under team all, but does age really matter? He did so well against the veteran Sharks and stepped up to the occasion. He can take the heat and so can Rinne, so this will be good. Will McDavid being the captain of this team be a sign of the near future? We definitely would love to see him become more of his heroic archetype and be named the Captain of Edmonton. If he does well with this team, which has teammate Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, then the Oilers should look into him becoming the main leader. Taylor Hall is gone now, which gives way to McDavid becoming the main heroic leader that Edmonton needs. Projected Lines:
