All the scores from today, playoff race updates, and more for this week's check in. And the first team in the playoffs is...San Jose Barracuda! Congrats to San Jose for being good all around in both the AHL and NHL! Now, let's see when the Sharks will clinch their berth... Tradition! Story of the Hat Trick SombreroPerks of being on the Bakersfield Condors (besides having the chance to be called up to the big club led by McDavid!) includes receiving a certificate and unique sombrero after scoring a hat trick. Thanks to a tradition started by a season ticket holder years ago, the celebration has been kept alive despite a drought for a couple of years and the original fan leaving. With two hat tricks this season, fans got to see the hat fly onto the ice and the players got to enjoy their feat. Here's to being unique! Remember this name: Thatcher DemkoIt's a little hard to forget a name like but this player is one of the NHL's top goaltending prospects. Demko went 7-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .965 SV% in his last seven starts, including two shutouts. He's also 21 years old and is already playing at a great level; in 33 games, he's had a 2.57 GAA and .909 SV%. Great news for Canucks fans, he's yours! Somewhat okay news, he will not play until Ryan Miller's time is up and you know how long Vancouver takes with prospects... We may not see him until later... Parallels: Sound Tigers are close to making the playoffsJust like their affiliate, the Sound Tigers are in a much better position than they were at the beginning of the season. With the addition of Jaroslav Halak, Bridgeport is now 2 points behind in the race for the last playoff spot in their division. Great to see the veteran make do with his situation this season. Playoff RaceIs your team in it or not? Time to find out. Keep rooting for your team and I will see you next week!
