The third (and second in the series) team from sunny Florida! This team has great history and it's exciting to share about the oldest AFC team from the Deep South. 1972This year should be commonly known to football fans as the year the Dolphins never lost. They became the only team to go 17-0 in every game including the Super Bowl. So many teams have tried to copy the record but they fall flat (anyone remember the Patriots vs. Giants Super Bowl before the other one that happened?) The crazy part about this record was that they lost their starting quarterback to a broken leg and still won the rest of the games with the backup! If that doesn't prove how valuable backups are, I don't know what will. The year after that historic season, the Dolphins made history again and won a second Super Bowl (they haven't won since..). Miami Dolphins Hall Of Famers: Nick Buoniconti (1969-1974, 1976) Larry Csonka (1968-1974, 1979) Bob Griese (1967-1980) Jim Langer (1970-1979) Larry Little (1969-1980) Dan Marino (1983-1999) Don Shula (1970-1995) Dwight Stephenson (1980-1987) Paul Warfield (1970-1974) Fun(ny) Fact: In 2009, the Dolphins once released a new fight song by Jimmy Buffett and T-Pain featuring Pitbull, but it received such bad reception that it only lasted a game. Ever wondered if the Dolphins ever had a live dolphin at games? Find out the answer below! Meet Dolfan DennyI'll leave with a joke.... Leave a Reply. |
