Merry Christmas Eve and here's the gift of learning! Do Quarterbacks Rate Better in Domes than Outdoors? For this experiment, I will explore the QB ratings of six quarterbacks that have played for both indoor and outdoor teams, including: Peyton Manning, Sam Bradford, Brock Osweiler (again!), Drew Brees, Carson Palmer, and Case Keenum. HypothesesNull: Quarterbacks have the SAME ability to rate better in indoor and outdoor stadiums. Alternative: Quarterbacks have a GREATER ability to rate better in indoor stadiums. DOME-OUTDOOR Manning99.1-94.0= 4.1 Bradford82.6-83.9= -1.3 Osweiler56.1-82.1= -26 Brees102.7-90.3= 12.4 Palmer94.3-85.5= 8.8 Keenum118.2-71.4= 46.8 Observed Mean Difference= 7.63Which means that we will look for 7.63 as our test statistic when doing the trials. Simulation56/200 are over the test statistic. P-Value= 28%. ConclusionSince the p-value is large (over 5%), it is plausible that the null hypothesis is true and these quarterbacks have the same ability to rate better in both types of stadiums.

AuthorHi, I'm Jenna and I'm a sports fan! I've been avidly watching sports since 2011 because I found that by watching sports, I would be able to communicate with my dad and brother better. Ever since I got into sports, I've been able to enjoy myself more when I go to sporting events with my family. Archives
