"All these problems start piling up [after Hurricane Maria]. People were so desperate. People were trying to get out, trying to run away from reality. I can't judge them or their reasons, but I thought: I can't do that. I have to face it. I want to be a strong soldier for the Puerto Rican people -- a symbol that we have to face this new reality and come together, work together, try to recover." -Beverly Ramos "I've played basketball for so long, you go to the same places and you are well known... But in racing, I have to start from scratch and fight my way up. I enjoy the challenge of starting something new and proving my worth." -Annika Zeyen "To become a champion you need good and professional people around you, but the most important thing is to have a high motivation, which has to be always present every day of your career." -Mary Keitany "It's all about me, no matter who I'm fighting. There are so many variables that go into a fight, you shouldn't waste your time worrying about the other fighters." -Rose Namajunas "Instead of having confidence in what I did, I developed confidence in who I was. And that transition was everything." -Chantelle Anderson "There's no reason why [the Buffalo Beauts] can't repeat, The expectations we have in this organization ... this group of girls can do it." -Corinne Buie "There's no other place that my dad would want us to be. Me and [my twin Lacy], we have a bigger drive now. I think it's motivated us even more. Volleyball has been kind of a sanctuary for me and Lacy to cope, to keep our minds off of it." -Lyndie Haddock How important is today's game four?
Very important, if you look back at the past ten World Series games. I won't go too into detail why because that's what the graphic was created for, but at least six teams who lost the game at home went on to lose the World Series. The winners are few and far between as well, but two out of the three who won at home did win the World Series. With that being said, here is why tonight is important: "I didn't have the best showing at nationals, so going into worlds camp, I was the underdog. I was not anyone's first choice, That pushes me. I wanted to show people that I went home and worked my butt off and I'm here to make the team." -Morgan Hurd "I would like to use sports to encourage and empower the girls and single mothers I work with in Taiwan. I want to provide them with equal opportunity, and then they'll have the motivation to pursue their own happiness." -Po-Chun Liu |
AuthorHi, I'm Jenna and I'm a sports fan! I've been avidly watching sports since 2011 because I found that by watching sports, I would be able to communicate with my dad and brother better. Ever since I got into sports, I've been able to enjoy myself more when I go to sporting events with my family. Archives
