Wow! What a night for the Houston Astros! Lance McCullers Jr. took care of business on the mound last night, and the bullpen full of starters were able to maintain their great lead. Houston deserves this joy right now, and I hope to see the happiness in their parade. This team struggled for years with bad records, but they knew they would be good in the future. The lineup this World Series was amazing and pitchers were in trouble in every part. They deserved this, and it's great to see them win it as predicted before. Reminder for fans of losing teams: If your farm system is good from all the trades your team made, do not give up because the payoff will come. This team used to be called the 'Lastros' and now that term is outdated. More to come...
One win away and we have a new champion. Let's see if we can get that or if we get another wild night.
Astros hope to take the 3-1 lead and build off of last night's solid victory. Alex Wood takes the mound for the Dodgers, and he will try to redeem himself on the biggest stage tonight. Let's see if he does.
Yu Darvish faces familiar territory tonight as he heads back to Texas to face the Astros. This is a home run- heavy series, and that could continue tonight with offenses looking strong.
Los Angeles leads 1-0 after a showdown of home runs last night and hopes to get on the road 2-0. Houston will give them a good run tonight with Justin Verlander.
Today we sit and remember how big last night was for baseball and do so by looking back at what just happened. The Championship Series was great this year and two new teams will face each other in the World Series. Because there is no baseball today, look back at the best photos from this week and series. NLCS in Review: The good news is that the Cubs gave it a good fight in a few of the games and avoided a sweep to make it more interesting. The Dodgers were the clear favorites to win and they delievered this time. It's been years since we last saw them here so I hope they make it worth the wait. ALCS in Review: What a great series! It looked great for the Astros then the Yankees took over but the Astros went out and brought it back. Houston needs this championship and they will do what they can to get it. New York is a great team as well and came back from being down 0-2 twice, so next season can be good for them too. Astros vs. Dodgers will be exciting!
Tonight we find out who will be the lucky team to join the Dodgers in the World Series. Buckle up because today is a big day for baseball.
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers on going to their first World Series SINCE 1988. It could be a rematch tonight if New York wins it but Houston could keep it alive as well.
